What We've Done in July

What have I been up to this past month? Not my art and literacy assignments, that's for sure! Procrastination, anyone?

    What I've Watched

  1. Gossip Girl: Just like The OC, before I'd ever watched an episode, I hadn't seen what millions of girls around the globe saw in the show, but now I've watched a few episodes, I fully understand. Dan is my favourite...
  2. Merlin: As corny as the modern Doctor Who with story lines as screwy as Smallvile, but I enjoyed it just the same.
  3. Castle: Clever, original and funny, Castle is a murder show with a difference. We still miss Lie to Me though.

  4. What I've Googled:

  5. Sparknotes: Dan Bergstein on Twilight. Basically, Dan blogs about each chapter of Twilight as he reads the novel. For all the lovers, the Swiss and the haters of Twilight, Dan Bergstein's blogs are funny even if you've never read the books.
  6. Wikihow: From the mundane ('How to Apply Mascara') to the very hard ('How to use the Washer and Dryer') Wikihow gives you step by step instructions, tips and warnings for every task - and I mean every task.
  7. Triple J - FREE MUSIC! Need I say more? - Don't forget to check the site at least once a fortnight for updates other wise you could miss out on something gold!

  8. What I've YouTubed:

  9. Eurovision: watch on the website or snippets on YouTube. My favourites - from Serbia, Cipela, Fairytale from Norway and Hora din Moldova from, well, Moldova.
  10. The Disney Brat Pack: Sad, yes, but when you want to know what the whole world sees in them, you turn to YouTube. Favourite: Demi Lovato 'LaLa Land' and 'You Can't Forget'. Is this abusing the privileges of YouTube?
  11. Childhood favourites: Remember the songs that were on the radio when you were little? Recently I've been revisiting Cher, Shania Twain and one-hit-wonders Shampoo and Crazy Town. Butterfly really does have new meaning as you get older.

  12. What I've Listened To:

  13. 2080 by Yeasayer - (my new myspace profile song) I am addicted to this song. But do yourself a favour and DO NOT YouTube them... These guys are not so awesome live...
  14. Lily Allen -Just in case you live under a rock, Lily Allen has once again burst onto the scene with her catty but catchy music. The extremely talented Lily has released her second album, 'It's Not Me, It's You' . My favourite tracks are 'Chinese' (cute and romantic) and 'The Fear' (an interesting glimpse into
  15. Edinburgh college radio on iTunes - What is the other side of the world listening to right now? Brilliant Brit indie pop, that's what.

    What I've Read:

  1. Angels and Demons by Dan Brown - Dan Brown writes the sort of novels you read purely for enjoyment. Controversial yet blunt, fast paced but predictable.
  2. Headgames by Nick Earls - Nick Earls has a tendency to be the kind of writer that you slog through his work and at the end of it all, wonder where your last two weeks went. However I liked Headgames, a collection of a few of his finest short stories.
  3. The Straight Road to Kylie by Nico Medina - I'm not even going to go there - it was rubbish.

  4. What I've Got My Eye On: (Internet shopping)

    I love Amazon.com.

  5. RayBan sunglasses - Wayfarers from $79? Yes, please!
  6. Electronics - The Amazon Kindle looks incredibly cool and I cannot wait for it to come out in Australia!
  7. SHOES - For both men and women, shoes, shoes, shoes! Buy designer or non-descript brands, it's all on Amazon.com! Cute to scary, work to play,
  8. Just try not to get too depressed when you realise your bank account is nowhere near as huge as Tom Cruise's.

*Am new to this so I do apologise for any colour glitches, and I promise to have pictures next time!
